According to NYC Open Data, 10 pedestrians were killed and 488 were injured in Assembly District 31 from Jan 1, 2022 to Sep 24, 2025.

How were these numbers calculated?

We used NYC Open Data’s Motor Vehicle Collisions datasets for Crashes (h9gi-nx95), Persons (f55k-p6yu), and Vehicles (bm4k-52h4). We filtered records for Jan 1, 2022–Sep 24, 2025 within Assembly District 31 and tallied deaths, injuries, and pedestrian-specific outcomes. Data was accessed Sep 24, 2025. A 60-year-old SUV driver hit a 75-year-old woman in the intersection at Beach 59th and Arverne Boulevard. She left with a fractured shoulder while the driver kept going straight through her.
According to the police report, a 60-year-old man driving a 2017 Hyundai SUV west on Beach 59th Street hit a 75-year-old woman in the intersection at Arverne Boulevard. Police recorded the woman as a pedestrian at the intersection with a fracture and dislocation to her upper arm and shoulder. The driver was listed as licensed and uninjured.

On Belt Parkway, police recorded driver inattention. A driver hit another vehicle and two drivers walked away with whiplash.
