   A pickup driver going straight on Castleton Ave hit three women crossing near Barker Street. A 66-year-old woman died; two others suffered abdominal and facial injuries.
   According to the police report, a 43-year-old licensed driver in a Ford pickup traveling west on Castleton Avenue hit three women who were crossing near Barker Street, away from an intersection. A 66-year-old pedestrian died from head injuries. Two other pedestrians, ages 29 and 51, sustained abdominal, pelvic and facial injuries.

   ARTHUR KILL RD
   An 80-year-old driver making a left on Arthur Kill Road hit a 60-year-old man walking outside the intersection. Police logged distraction and failure to yield as the man died with hip and leg injuries.
   A 60-year-old man walking along Arthur Kill Road near Richmond Avenue on Staten Island was hit and killed by an 80-year-old woman driving a 2013 Honda sedan west and making a left turn. According to the police report, officers recorded driver inattention and failure to yield the right of way as contributing factors. The pedestrian suffered fatal hip and upper leg injuries. The driver was recorded as an occupant with no physical injury. The crash occurred on an arterial road on a Sunday evening.

   A Mazda SUV driver going straight on Veterans Rd E hit a 66-year-old woman in the Bloomingdale Rd intersection. Morning light, one driver, one pedestrian. She died of crush injuries in the crosswalk space and never made it across.
   According to the police report, a woman driving a 2024 Mazda SUV west on Veterans Rd E hit a 66-year-old woman crossing at the Bloomingdale Rd intersection on Staten Island around 6 a.m. The pedestrian was recorded in the intersection and died of crush injuries to her entire body. The driver was traveling straight ahead, and impact and damage were noted at the SUV’s left front. No other people were listed in the crash record.
4. Young motorcyclist dies in Verrazzano speed crash 2025-08-25T22:55:00+00:00
   VERRAZANO BRIDGE
   A 21-year-old rider hit the Verrazzano span at unsafe speed and was thrown from his motorcycle late Monday night. He died there, alone on the bridge, with no other vehicles listed.
   A 21-year-old man riding a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle east on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge late Monday night crashed and was ejected. He died of his injuries. According to the police report, officers recorded unsafe speed by the rider as the contributing factor. No other vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists were listed in the crash record.
5. SUV Driver’s Botched U-Turn Kills Motorcyclist on Bay St 2025-07-05T15:11:00+00:00

   A driver tried a U-turn on Bay Street and hit a 34-year-old motorcyclist. Police recorded an improper turn and unsafe speed. The rider was ejected and died on the road.
   A 34-year-old man riding a motorcycle was killed when a driver in an SUV making a U-turn hit him on Bay Street at Norwood Avenue in Staten Island. According to the police report, the motorcyclist was ejected and suffered fatal injuries to his entire body. Police recorded turning improperly and unsafe speed as contributing factors in the Saturday afternoon crash.
