What it is

Crashcount for iPhone is the mobile companion to Crashcount. It combines nearby crash context, searchable map views, and Crashscape, the app’s immersive AR mode for exploring street-level crash history in New York City.

What Crashscape means

Crashscape is a feature inside Crashcount, not a separate app. It is the AR mode you can open from the Crashscape tab after the app has location access and a usable position in New York City.

Permissions used by the app

  • Location: used to show nearby crash context and position Crashscape correctly.
  • Camera: used only for Crashscape AR mode.
  • Motion: used to stabilize the AR experience.
  • Photos (add only): used only when you explicitly save a capture.
