Bus Driver Charged After Teen Killed at Brooklyn Intersection

The crash happened at about 7:55 a.m. on Jan. 17, 2022, at Avenue P and Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn. The official record says a bus driver was traveling south and making a right turn when the driver failed to yield and hit a 15-year-old girl who was crossing with the signal at the intersection.
Police found the teen unresponsive in the street with head trauma, according to the New York Post. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police identified the driver as Aleksandr Patlakh, 55, of Coney Island, and said he was a school bus driver.
