An 81-year-old man driving a 2008 Acura sedan north on Douglaston Parkway near Rushmore Avenue in Queens died after crashing Thursday evening. According to the police report, the licensed driver fell asleep and lost consciousness before impact. The front of the sedan hit with enough force to cause fatal chest injuries. He was the only occupant, and no other people were reported hurt.
