The official record lists a 2021 KW truck or bus classified as a dump truck, with one occupant, traveling east and making a left turn before the crash. The driver was recorded as a licensed male driver in New York.

The driver returned and police continued investigating
Police told the Daily News that the driver went a short distance after the impact and then circled back to the scene. Police said the crash remained under investigation.
