According to the police report, a taxi driver turning left at East Houston Street and 1st Avenue in Manhattan collided with a sedan whose driver was traveling straight. The drivers hit a 21-year-old man in the intersection. He suffered a severe head injury and heavy bleeding and was pronounced dead. Police recorded alcohol involvement as a contributing factor.
