A 28-year-old Honda driver drove straight into the back of a stopped freight truck on the Cross Bronx Expressway before dawn. Police recorded distraction and illegal drugs. He died alone, crushed at the wheel.

A 28-year-old man driving a Honda sedan south on the Cross Bronx Expressway at 3:45 a.m. hit the rear of a stopped freight truck. According to the police report, he was alone in the car and died from crush injuries to his entire body. Police recorded driver inattention and illegal drugs as contributing factors. The truck driver was stopped in traffic and was not reported injured.
