Left‑Turn Driver Runs Light, Kills Woman on Midtown Sidewalk
A driver in an SUV blew a left turn at West 29th and Broadway and hit women standing on the sidewalk. One pedestrian, 48, died from crush injuries. A 32-year-old lost part of her leg. A 50-year-old bike rider was also hurt.

Another 32-year-old pedestrian sustained contusions. A 50-year-old bicyclist nearby sustained a fractured upper arm. Police recorded traffic control disregarded by the driver.
