A driver in an SUV ran a traffic control on Hughes Avenue and slammed into another car. The 26-year-old driver of that car flew out, hit his head on the pavement, and died there late Friday night.

According to the police report, a driver in an SUV traveled south on Hughes Avenue near East 180th Street late on a Friday night when he disregarded a traffic control device and hit another vehicle going straight. The 26-year-old male driver of the second vehicle, who was unbelted, was ejected, suffered a head injury, and was pronounced dead. The crash occurred after dark in the Bronx.
