SUV Driver Runs Red, Kills CitiBike Rider
A 41-year-old man riding a CitiBike through Grand Concourse before dawn never makes it home. A southbound SUV driver blows the light at East 149th and hits him. He is thrown, suffers fatal head injuries, and dies in the street.

A 41-year-old man riding a CitiBike west on Grand Concourse was hit by a southbound SUV driven by a 44-year-old man at East 149th Street just before 4 a.m. According to the police report, both went straight through the intersection and the SUV driver disregarded the traffic control. Police recorded driver inattention and traffic control disregarded as contributing factors. The cyclist was ejected, suffered severe head injuries, and died at the scene.
