The Daily News instead placed Vidal on Meadow Street approaching Morgan Avenue and reported that he fell before the driver ran over him.
The turn was in East Williamsburg.
The crash occurred near Morgan Avenue and Meadow Street in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. amNY described Morgan Avenue as a two-way road through an industrial neighborhood, with bike lanes that have no physical protection from traffic.
Friends and fellow workers mourned Vidal.
amNY identified the rider as Daniel Vidal, a 30-year-old delivery worker known locally as Dani, according to Gustavo Ajche of Los Deliveristas Unidos. Friends and fellow delivery workers gathered in tears near the crash scene. The Daily News spelled his surname Vida in one sentence and Vidal later in its report.
The Daily News reported that witness Michelle Acevedo saw Vidal's brother grieving at the scene. She said he and a third rider had been traveling on separate motorcycles.
The vehicle descriptions do not match.
The official record lists a 2021 EX-PRO motorbike and a 2022 vehicle whose make is recorded as INTL-TRUCK/BUS. It classifies the second vehicle as a carry-all and normalizes it as a sedan, while both news reports describe a flatbed truck.
