Belt Parkway Pavement Fails, Two Drivers Hit Motorcyclist
Overnight on the Belt Parkway, a 41-year-old rider changed lanes and hit broken pavement. He went down and two eastbound SUV drivers hit him. He died there in the dark, thrown from his motorcycle.
What We Know
According to the police report, a 41-year-old man riding a JIAJUE motorcycle east on the Belt Parkway changed lanes and hit defective pavement around 3:48 a.m. He was ejected and suffered fatal crush injuries when two eastbound SUV drivers then hit him. Police recorded defective pavement and driver inattention or distraction as contributing factors. The crash happened overnight, after dark. No injuries were reported for the SUV drivers.
