City crash records say a licensed male driver in a 2010 Ford SUV was traveling south and making a right turn as a 67-year-old woman on an e-bike was traveling west and going straight at East 188th Street and Park Avenue.
Police told the Daily News the driver was turning from East 188th Street onto Park Avenue when he collided with the e-bike rider, who had been riding on the sidewalk before entering the crosswalk.
A 67-year-old rider died the next day
The official fatality record identifies the person killed as a 67-year-old woman riding the e-bike. Police told the Daily News she was thrown from the e-bike, run over, and rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she died the next day.
The Daily News reported that police had not immediately released her name while trying to reach family members. The 63-year-old driver remained at the scene and had not been charged at the time of the report.
