The fatal crash followed a nearby melee, police and witnesses said
Gothamist reported that police were also responding to a large group fighting near 120th Street and 95th Avenue, and that a dispute at Showtime Bar and Lounge had spilled into the street. Four men had stab or slash wounds, police said, and police also said two of the men had been hit by a driver believed to be in the same white sedan.
The Daily News reported a similar account of a fight that began at Showtime Bar and Lounge and moved along 120th Street. A neighbor told the paper she saw a group beating a man in the street before seeing a white car moving down the block.
Records and press accounts describe different vehicle evidence
The official vehicle records list two parked SUVs with damage: a 2018 Toyota SUV and a 2008 Ford SUV, both noted as parked and facing north.
The press accounts instead describe police searching for a white sedan whose driver left the scene. The Daily News identified it as a white Nissan sedan, while Gothamist described it only as a white sedan.
