Unlicensed Van Driver Kills 79-Year-Old on Church Ave
A distracted, unlicensed van driver hit a 79-year-old woman head-on as she stepped off a vehicle on Church Avenue in East Flatbush. She died in the street while the man who hit her had no license to drive there at all.

A 79-year-old woman was killed Saturday evening on Church Avenue in East Flatbush. According to the police report, she was getting off a vehicle when the driver of a 2007 Ford van, heading east and reportedly distracted, hit her head-on. Police recorded driver inattention and noted that the male driver did not have a valid license. The woman sustained fatal injuries, including a fracture with dislocation, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
