According to the police report, just before 1 a.m. on the eastbound Gowanus Expressway, a BMW driver changed lanes and hit a 32-year-old man who was in the roadway near parked taxis and other vehicles. The pedestrian suffered severe leg lacerations and died from his injuries. Police recorded obstruction and debris in the roadway and a steering problem as contributing factors.
