A van driver turned left off Houston as a 43-year-old man rode his KABOO scooter straight. He hit the van’s rear, was thrown, and died of head crush injuries in the street.

At East Houston Street and Lafayette Street in Manhattan, a van driver turned left as a 43-year-old man rode his KABOO e-scooter straight through the intersection. According to the police report, the rider hit the van’s right rear quarter panel, was ejected, and suffered fatal head injuries. Police recorded “Traffic Control Disregarded” as a contributing factor. The crash happened on a Saturday morning on an arterial street and left the scooter rider dead at the scene.
