Drunk Driver Hits, Kills Man in Bronx Crosswalk
A driver in a Chevy sedan hit a 64-year-old man in a marked Sound View Avenue crosswalk at night. The car’s front end drove straight through him. He died in the street. Police say the driver had been drinking.

A 64-year-old man was killed late Saturday while crossing Sound View Avenue at Lafayette Avenue in the Bronx. According to the police report, he was in a marked crosswalk when the driver of a Chevy sedan, traveling straight, hit him with the right front of the car, causing fatal head injuries. Police recorded alcohol involvement for the people in the car. The man died at the scene.
