A driver fled after a fatal motorcycle crash in Queens.

Reports describe the collision differently.
QNS, citing the NYPD's preliminary investigation, reported that a driver turning from eastbound 125th Avenue onto northbound 233rd Street struck Jean. The Daily News instead described Jean as colliding with a vehicle turning off 125th Avenue. The official vehicle entries record the motorcycle traveling south and a separate vehicle traveling north while making a left turn.
QNS reported that Jean came to rest under a parked, unoccupied 2004 Ford Econoline E350. The Daily News said Jean landed beneath the parked van and that his motorcycle also hit it.
Kallyn Jean was 33.
QNS and the Daily News identified Jean as the motorcyclist and reported that he lived in Oneida, upstate New York.
The vehicle descriptions do not align.
The official crash entry lists a motorcycle and sedan. Separate vehicle records list a motorcycle and two station wagons or SUVs, one of them parked. QNS and the Daily News described the parked Ford as a 2004 Econoline E350 van; neither article gave the turning vehicle's subtype.
Jean was taken to a hospital.
QNS reported that officers found Jean unconscious and unresponsive and that EMS took him to Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Valley Stream, where he was pronounced dead. The Daily News also reported that medics took him there and he died.
Police told QNS that the driver left the scene and remained at large, and that the investigation was ongoing when the report was published on August 7, 2023. The Daily News reported on August 6 that the driver had not been caught.
