QNS described Lio's Fly Wing as an electric scooter. The individual official vehicle record calls it an e-bike; the collision-level record lists a motorcycle. QNS identified the other vehicle as a 2014 Kia Sorrento, while the official vehicle record categorizes a 2014 Kia as a station wagon/SUV.
The official record also lists a parked, unoccupied 2007 Acura sedan; QNS did not describe its role.
EMS took Lio to a hospital.
QNS reported that police found Lio, 29, lying in the roadway with trauma. EMS took him to NYC Health+Hospitals in Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead.
The 52-year-old Kia driver was not injured and remained at the scene, QNS reported. Police had made no arrests, and the investigation was ongoing when the article was published on Aug. 17, 2023.
