Overnight swerve on Deegan kills young SUV driver
A 28-year-old SUV driver swerved on the Major Deegan overnight and hit the dash. Police say he reacted to another vehicle. His chest injuries were fatal. No one else was in the car.
What We Know
A 28-year-old man driving a 2002 Honda SUV south on the Major Deegan Expressway crashed overnight and died from chest injuries. According to the police report, the driver swerved at 2:14 a.m. in reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and, unrestrained, hit the dashboard. He was the only person in the SUV. The crash occurred on an arterial roadway after dark.
