Shah died after being taken to the hospital.
Norwood News said Shah suffered head trauma and was taken to New York Presbyterian Allen Hospital in stable condition. It reported that he died there on Nov. 8 while admitted for injuries from the crash. Patch also reported that he died at the hospital, but said he was admitted on Nov. 8; the accounts differ on when his hospital admission began.
Norwood News identified Shah as a Greenwich Village resident; Patch described him as a Chelsea resident who lived on Sixth Avenue. Both reports said the 34-year-old Mercedes driver was uninjured, and Norwood News said he remained at the scene.
The investigation had not led to arrests.
