Julio Plaza was 76
Patch identified the pedestrian as Julio Plaza, a 76-year-old Washington Heights resident. Police said responders found him unconscious and unresponsive in the roadway with apparent head and body trauma.

The official crash record classifies the involved vehicle as a sedan. Police told Patch the driver was operating a 2016 Dodge Charger traveling south on Broadway.
Plaza later died at a hospital
Patch reported that medics took Plaza to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he later died. Police said the driver remained at the scene and reported no injuries. As of Oct. 23, no arrests had been announced, and the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad investigation remained ongoing.
