Driver Blows Light, Slams Bus; 69-Year-Old Dead
A 69-year-old SUV driver ran a traffic signal at 3rd Avenue and East 147th Street and hit a bus. Her Jeep’s front collapsed. According to the police report, she died at the scene while belted in her seat.

According to the police report, a 69-year-old woman driving a 2004 Jeep SUV west on East 147th Street drove through a traffic control at 3rd Avenue and hit the left side of a southbound Nova Bus. Police recorded traffic control disregarded and unsafe speed for the SUV driver. She died of internal injuries. No injuries to people on the bus were reported. The crash happened on a Saturday evening after dark.
