Near midnight on the Bruckner Expressway, a 38-year-old motorcycle rider hit the rear of a slowing SUV. He flew off the bike, hit the pavement headfirst, and died there while traffic rolled past.

What We Know

According to the police report, just before midnight on the Bruckner Expressway a 38-year-old BMW motorcycle rider going straight hit the rear of a slowing Honda SUV. The rider, who wore a helmet, was ejected and suffered fatal head injuries and crush injuries. Police listed unsafe speed as a contributing factor. The SUV driver, licensed and alone in the vehicle, was not reported injured.
