A fall, then a driver who left
Hoque was riding a gray 2008 Yamaha motorcycle westbound when he collided with the center divider and fell onto the roadway, police told reporters. The Daily News reported that a driver then ran over him and kept going; QNS reported that a westbound driver struck him and left the scene.
Near Springfield Boulevard
The crash happened around 1:18 a.m. on November 5, 2023, in the westbound lanes of the Belt Parkway near Springfield Boulevard in Springfield Gardens, Queens. Police said Hoque fell near the center divider before a driver traveling in the same direction struck him on the roadway.
Mohammed Hoque
Hoque was 23 and lived on Grant Avenue in the Cypress Hills section of Brooklyn. Officers found him unconscious in the roadway with head and body trauma, and emergency medical workers pronounced him dead at the scene.
The search for the driver
As of November 6, police had made no arrests and were continuing to investigate the driver who left the scene.
