Distracted Drivers Hit 66-Year-Old Twice on Hempstead

A 66-year-old man tried to cross Hempstead Avenue on a rainy Sunday night. One distracted SUV driver hit him. A distracted sedan driver hit him again. His head injury was fatal. He died in the street where he fell.

According to the police report, a Chevy SUV driver going east hit him, and a Toyota sedan driver heading west then hit him again. Police recorded driver inattention and distraction for both drivers. The man suffered head trauma and died at the scene.
