Police told the New York Post that Louis Garcia, 68, was crossing Glenwood Road at East 105th Street around 6:50 p.m. when Gary Turner, 47, allegedly intoxicated, drove a 2017 Dodge Caravan into him. City records place the crash at 6:51 p.m. and record Garcia as a pedestrian at the intersection.
The Post, citing police, reported that Garcia was thrown to the pavement and suffered severe head trauma. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
