Truck Driver Slams Stopped SUV, Kills Bronx Passenger
Before dawn on the New England Thruway, a box‑truck driver went straight ahead and hit a stopped SUV. A 61‑year‑old man in the back seat was killed. Another passenger was left with a chest fracture in the dark northbound traffic.

According to the police report, around 5:15 a.m. on the northbound New England Thruway a box‑truck driver traveling straight ahead hit the left rear of a Honda SUV that was stopped in traffic. The impact killed a 61‑year‑old man seated in the right rear and injured a 57‑year‑old front passenger, who suffered a chest fracture. Police recorded unsafe speed and obstruction or debris as contributing factors. The crash occurred overnight on a high‑speed arterial roadway in below‑freezing temperatures.
