A 58-year-old man stepped into 37th Avenue. An unlicensed Hurley e-scooter rider failed to yield and hit him head-on. He went down with severe head wounds and never got back up.

What We Know

According to the police report, around 11:26 a.m. a 58-year-old man was crossing at 37th Avenue and 73rd Street when an unlicensed man riding a Hurley e-scooter went straight through the intersection and hit him head-on. Police recorded Failure to Yield Right-of-Way. The pedestrian suffered severe head lacerations, was found unconscious, and died at the scene.
