Taxi driver hits woman crossing with signal
A taxi driver pulled from a parked spot on West 47th and hit a 61-year-old woman crossing with the walk signal. Police recorded driver inexperience as the cause of the crash.

According to the police report, a 39-year-old taxi driver who had been parked on West 47th Street near Avenue of the Americas moved out and hit a 61-year-old woman who was crossing in the intersection with the signal. The pedestrian sustained a contusion to her hip and upper leg, and police recorded driver inexperience as a contributing factor. The driver, the only person in the cab, was also listed as fatally injured.
