Runaway BMW Kills 77‑Year‑Old Driver on Ocean Avenue

A parked BMW broke loose on Ocean Avenue, hitting a stopped sedan and then a Subaru. The Subaru’s 77-year-old driver suffered crush and head injuries and died there, thrown partway from his seat by a car nobody was driving.

According to the police report, a parked BMW SUV on Ocean Avenue rolled driverless into traffic. The report states it first hit a stopped sedan, then crashed into a Subaru SUV going straight.
