Left-Turning SUV Driver Kills Motorcyclist
A left-turning SUV driver cut across Hylan Boulevard and a 31-year-old rider hit the front of the truck. The motorcyclist was thrown and crushed and died there in the evening heat, another body on Staten Island asphalt.
What We Know
A 31-year-old man riding a Honda motorcycle north on Hylan Boulevard hit the front of a left-turning SUV near Dongan Hill Avenue on a Saturday evening. According to the police report, the SUV driver failed to yield and turned improperly, while police also recorded unsafe speed. The rider was ejected and sustained crush injuries across his body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
