Box Truck Driver Blows Signal, Kills Rider
A box truck driver rolled through Flushing Avenue and a 29-year-old on a BMW motorcycle paid with his life. The rider hit the truck’s front, was crushed and thrown, and died in the street while the truck kept going straight.
What We Know
According to the police report, a 29-year-old man riding a 1987 BMW motorcycle northbound on Flushing Avenue hit the left front quarter of a westbound box truck near Scott Avenue in Brooklyn. The motorcycle overturned, and the rider was partially ejected and died from crush injuries to his entire body. Police recorded “Traffic Control Disregarded” as a contributing factor. Both drivers were reported as traveling straight on the arterial street at the time of impact.
