On Cross Island Parkway at night, a 31-year-old man stood in the roadway. Two SUV drivers hit him in succession. His body took both blows. No crosswalk, no protection, just steel and darkness.

According to the police report, a 31-year-old man standing in the roadway on Cross Island Parkway in Queens was killed late Tuesday night after two SUV drivers hit him one after the other on the northbound side. The first driver, in a 2023 Nissan SUV, was changing lanes before impact. A second driver in a 2018 Jaguar SUV, listed as parked, was also recorded in the crash sequence.
