Driver Dies After Bronx Thruway Collision With Parked Truck
Edwin Seixas, 40, died after he drove a Dodge Journey into an unoccupied tractor-trailer on the New England Thruway in the Bronx at about 10:20 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2024, police said.

Police told the Daily News that Edwin Seixas was behind the wheel of a Dodge Journey on the southbound New England Thruway portion of Interstate 95 near Baychester Avenue when he collided with a parked tractor-trailer at about 10:20 p.m. The official record lists the other vehicle as a diesel tractor truck that was parked and facing south.
The driver who died was identified as Edwin Seixas
The official record lists the person killed as a 40-year-old male driver. Police identified him to the Daily News as Edwin Seixas of Norwalk, Conn. Medics took him to Jacobi Medical Center, where he could not be saved.
