Unlicensed Moped Rider Dies in Solo Crash
A 37-year-old unlicensed moped rider changed lanes on Nassau Expressway and went down. He hit the roadway headfirst and died there, alone, on a fast arterial built for everyone but him.
What We Know
According to the police report, a 37-year-old man riding a 2024 Taizhou moped on Nassau Expressway in Queens changed lanes and crashed on the roadway. He was helmeted but was ejected and sustained fatal head and crush injuries. The report lists him as the only person involved and notes that he did not have a valid driver’s license.
