A burglary response turned into a fatal pursuit

Amanda Servedio was remembered as a dedicated cyclist

Amanda Servedio was the bicyclist killed. Reports differed on her age: city records and several articles identified her as 36, while Daily News stories identified her as 37.

The Post and Gothamist reported that Servedio lived in Astoria, worked as a senior tax accountant at a Midtown firm, and was remembered by neighbors and community members as an avid cyclist who regularly took long rides. Gothamist reported that friends and family said she was returning from a cycling event.

Investigators pointed to disregarded signals and aggressive driving

City crash records attributed contributing factors for the pickup driver to disregarding traffic controls and aggressive driving or road rage. Prosecutors said surveillance videos showed Fiseku speeding, weaving in and out of bike lanes, and running red lights; they also said Servedio had the right of way.

A murder charge, then another suspect

Fiseku was arraigned in Queens Supreme Court in June 2025 on charges including murder, manslaughter and assault, according to the Daily News. Gothamist, citing Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, reported that he faced up to 25 years in prison if convicted on the state charges and that a judge ordered him held.

In February 2026, the Daily News reported that police identified Nedzad Korac, 53, as another suspect sought in connection with Servedio's death. The report said police described Korac as a passenger in the Dodge Ram while Fiseku drove.
