At 5:13 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2024, a 29-year-old man driving a Kia north on 69th Street was turning left onto westbound Eliot Avenue, police said, according to QNS. QNS reported that Frederick, riding south, struck the Kia's passenger side and was ejected; the Daily News described Frederick as striking a northbound Kia during its turn. The official record counts one death, and both reports say medics took Frederick to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died. QNS reported that a 29-year-old Kia driver was traveling north on 69th Street and turning left onto westbound Eliot Avenue as Frederick rode south. QNS said Frederick struck the Kia's passenger side and was ejected. The Daily News also reported that Frederick struck a northbound Kia as it turned left.
Keron Frederick
QNS identified the motorcyclist as Keron Frederick, 39, from Jamaica, and reported that he lived on 168th Street. Police said EMS took him to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The vehicles described in the reports
The official record classifies the vehicles as a motorcycle and a sedan. QNS identified the motorcycle as a 2013 white Suzuki G5X-R600 and the sedan as a 2023 black Kia Forte.
The investigation remained open
QNS reported that the Kia driver stayed at the scene and had not been arrested as of Nov. 4. The Daily News said the driver and a passenger were uninjured. Both reports said the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
