A witness described rough-housing before the impact
Witness Xochitl Mejia told the Daily News that Irizarry had been drinking and rough-housing with a friend when the friend playfully shoved him off the sidewalk. Mejia said the friend tried to grab him and pull him back as the truck driver was coming west on 60th Street.
Brian Irizarry was from East Flatbush
The Daily News reported that Irizarry lived in East Flatbush. The city crash record lists the pedestrian killed as a 30-year-old man.
