The arrest came more than a year later
Ajahnni Triana was arrested on May 27, 2026, roughly 17 months after the crash. She pleaded not guilty and was released without bail, and Hoodline reported that the case was pending in Brooklyn criminal court.
Hoodline reported that cellphone video and witness descriptions helped investigators trace the route, and that the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad led the hit-and-run investigation.
