Queens SUV driver blacks out, kills two men

According to the police report, around 10:31 a.m. on a Friday morning on 87th Street near Atlantic Avenue in Queens, a 35-year-old man driving a Ford SUV southbound lost consciousness and veered off his path. The driver hit two men, ages 31 and 67, who were walking mid-block, causing fatal injuries to both. The report lists “Lost Consciousness” as a contributing factor for one of the pedestrians’ records and notes the driver also sustained a head injury. The SUV driver hit parked vehicles before coming to a stop.
