Sedan Drivers Kill Two Young Bronx Moped Riders
Two young moped riders were hit and killed overnight on the Bronx River Parkway by southbound sedan drivers. Both riders were ejected and died at the scene; a 21‑year‑old sedan driver was also injured.
What We Know
Two moped riders, ages 19 and 21, were killed just after midnight on the Bronx River Parkway when southbound sedan drivers hit their mopeds from behind. According to the police report, one driver was passing and another was going straight before impact. Both riders were ejected and their mopeds were recorded demolished. Records show both moped operators were unlicensed. A 21-year-old sedan driver was listed as injured.
