Police said Mossetty was crossing York Avenue mid-block near East 72nd Street when Hakim struck him and knocked him to the roadway. 1010 WINS reported that Mossetty became trapped beneath the vehicle and was dislodged at the lower level of the Queensboro Bridge.
Accounts differed on the distance: 1010 WINS reported more than a dozen blocks, East Side Feed roughly 12 blocks and Patch 10 blocks.
The collision was near East 72nd Street, not at the bridge.

The city crash record classifies the vehicle as a taxi. 1010 WINS and East Side Feed identified it as a Toyota RAV4, while Patch described it as a Toyota RAV4 SUV cab. 1010 WINS reported that Hakim was behind the wheel.
His family asked that he be remembered beyond his struggles.
Mossetty was 36. His sister Jessica Hernandez told Patch he was homeless and had sought mental health care at a local hospital before being discharged around 3 a.m.
Hernandez told Patch, “He was a son, a brother, a father, and a human being who deserved dignity, compassion, and safety.”
Hakim was arrested and charged.
Police said Hakim was arrested in Queens later Saturday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. 1010 WINS reported that Mossetty was pronounced dead at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. The NYPD said the investigation was ongoing.
