Company president John Farella told News 12, “She did a lot of customer interface; and without fail, every single customer we spoke to said she was wonderful.” Randy Lott said, “We call her ‘work mom,’” according to News 12.
Reports describe the riders and vehicle differently
1010 WINS described two men, ages 39 and 41, riding an e-bike. News 12 described a 41-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman riding a moped, and also referred to them as e-bike riders. Both outlets reported that the riders were taken to a hospital and were stable.

News 12 noted a break in the bike lane
A News 12 crew observed that the painted bike lane ended at the bus stop and resumed beyond it, and reported there was no signal or signage indicating who had the right of way. Council Member Lincoln Restler posted that there were “too many crashes on this stretch” and that it “needs to be a better design to protect pedestrians.”
