Bronx driver fails to yield, kills 80-year-old
At Holland and Allerton, a male driver turned left and ignored the crossing woman. Police say he failed to yield. He hit her in the head as she walked with the signal. She died in the intersection at midday.

An 80-year-old woman walking in the Bronx was killed midday at Holland Avenue and Allerton Avenue. According to the police report, a licensed male driver in a 2005 Honda sedan was traveling east and making a left turn when he hit her with the center front of the car as she crossed with the signal. Police recorded Failure to Yield Right-of-Way and View Obstructed/Limited as contributing factors for the driver. The woman was listed as a pedestrian at the intersection with a fatal head injury in daylight conditions.
