A 64-year-old stand-up scooter rider was killed at Waters Place and Marconi Street on Jan. 15, after police said he entered oncoming traffic, failed to navigate traffic and was ejected.

The crash was recorded at 10:51 a.m. Jan. 15 at Waters Place and Marconi Street in the Bronx. Police told Norwood News a 64-year-old man was driving a Lime stand-up electric scooter eastbound in the westbound lanes, into oncoming traffic, when he failed to navigate traffic, was ejected and suffered severe head trauma. News 12 reported that earlier police information said a driver in a car had hit him, but that further investigation found he fell after failing to navigate traffic; the same News 12 account also described him as traveling northbound and said he was hit. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. Police reported no arrests and said the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad continued to investigate.
