Box truck driver fatally injured Brooklyn Heights pedestrian
A box truck driver hit 59-year-old pedestrian Nasir Nadim in Brooklyn on Jan. 23, and police told news outlets the driver kept going after Nadim grabbed the door; Nadim died a week later.

Police described a continuing hit-and-run sequence
Police told the Daily News and News 12 that Nasir Nadim was first hit near Clinton and State streets, then grabbed onto the driver-side door as the driver continued north for about 600 feet. The reports said Nadim fell near Cadman Plaza and was hit again. The driver continued and did not remain at the scene, according to those reports.

Nasir Nadim was returning from mosque, a friend said
The Daily News reported that Nadim lived in Sheepshead Bay, was from Pakistan and worked as a yellow taxi driver. A friend told Urdu News that Nadim had just finished praying at the nearby Dawood Mosque before the crash, and a neighbor told the Daily News that he worked to support family here and abroad.
Medics took Nadim to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition. News reports said he died seven days after the crash.
The driver had not been arrested as of the reports
The Daily News reported on Feb. 16 that the driver was still being sought. News 12 reported the same day that authorities said the driver did not remain at the scene and that no arrests had been made as of Monday evening.
