Gothamist's March 20 account says the Hyundai continued into a Toyota RAV4, then a parked Lexus, an empty police cruiser and a tractor-trailer. Its March 21 account says the police car pushed into the Lexus, followed by impacts with the tractor-trailer and Toyota. The reports differ on the order of the later impacts.

His best friend described a shared life and plans.
ABC7 reported that Zacarias was a food-delivery worker and father of a son who turned 10 the day after the crash. His best friend and roommate, Juan Suero, said they grew up together in the Dominican Republic, moved to the Bronx five years earlier, and both worked 13-hour delivery days. They had planned a trip to Santo Domingo for the following month. "That's my best friend, amigo - I'm so sorry," Suero said.
Prosecutors alleged drug use; the defense cited mechanical problems.
The city crash record lists illegal drugs and unsafe speed as contributing factors for the Hyundai driver. At Crosby's arraignment, Assistant District Attorney Emily Hong said he had admitted to smoking marijuana and PCP earlier that day. His lawyer, Seann Riley, argued that the car's steering and brakes were jammed.
The case advanced, and the second cyclist survived serious injuries.
West Side Spirit reported that Crosby had been indicted and listed aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, criminal possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and reckless driving among the charges. The other cyclist survived and spent nine days in the hospital with blunt-force head trauma, a broken leg and a fractured elbow, the outlet reported.
