The rider killed was a Bronx delivery worker
News reports identified the 28-year-old rider killed as Darly Zacarias of the Bronx, though some later accounts used the spelling Darlyn Zacarias or the order Zacarias Darly. He was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
ABC7 and West Side Spirit reported that Zacarias was a food delivery worker and the father of a boy who turned 10 the day after the crash. Los Deliveristas Unidos called his death a reminder of the dangers app delivery workers face on New York City streets.
Four other people were hurt
Police said the second e-bike rider, a 33-year-old man, was taken to Harlem Hospital in critical condition. Three people in other vehicles were also taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, according to police accounts cited by Gothamist and ABC7.
